Post 1,020 – Northern Highlands 21 North Hunterdon 20 in Overtime

Northern Highlands scored on the opening possession of overtime and blocked the extra point attempt by North Hunterdon to win the North Jersey Group 4 semifinal and advance to Rutgers and face Millville in two weeks.

Trailing 7-0 at the half, Caldwell scored 13 unanswered points to beat Westwood, 13-7. The winning score came with just over four minutes remaining.

Weequahic was leading, 20-7, at halftime. I am told it was 7-7 in the second quarter when they blocked a punt and forced the Mountain Lakes punter into shanking another. Both plays led to Indian touchdowns.
