Bull Session Week Four
September 30, 2026
Camden heads to Odessa, Texas, to play Permian, the home of Friday Night Lights, to play this Thursday night….Rancocas Valley is 5-0 and has allowed only 6 points in those games, with Shawnee the only team to score; meaning they have four shutouts…. Another 5-0 team that has allowed 6 points and 4 shutouts is Pinelands, which Collingswood scored in the opener….One reason Moorestown is off to a 4-1 start is that they are allowing 21 points in those games, three shutouts….The Yankees are playing the Red Sox in Game 1. Ten years ago, I would be pumped. Presently, I don’t care. I am not the baseball fan I once was. I watched the Rangers opener….If the Yankees don’t win it all, I would like to see the Phillies because Don Mattingly is the manager, one of my all-time favorite players….I hate seeing the best all-time NFL team, only to see nobody who played before 1990. Sometimes, it may include Lawrence Taylor. Best means best, going back to the early days….The pregame music at Paramus Catholic Friday night was bad, but what really annoyed me was a disco mix at the end of Lynyrd Skynyrd’s Free Bird and AC/DC’s Thunderstruck….Kingsway is off to an uncharacteristic 0-5 start, but they have come to 5-0 Donovan Catholic, 3-2 Winslow, 5-0 Rancocas Valley, 3-1 Millville, and 5-0 Washington Township…..NJ College scores: Princeton beat Albany 22-0, Monmouth beat Dartmouth 21-28, Rowan beat Lycoming 9-0, TCNJ beat Juniata 35-7, Montclair State beat Wilkes 26-9, William Paterson lost to Moravian in overtime 19-16, while Kean and FDU had byes…. I will be attending Northern Highlands at Ramapo Friday night and Don Bosco at Bergen Catholic on Saturday afternoon….Rutherford’s 27-21 win over Becton was a good game this past Friday night. Becton QB Elijah Davis was the prime mover for Becton, passing for 219 yards and rushing for 181, for 400 yards of total offense….….Top performances that jumped out at me, courtesy of nj.com: Passing: Tyree Huff of Plainfield: 23-30-343-6, Zach Miceli of Old Tappan: 285-3, Kyle Mercorelli of Hoboken: 14-20-285-3, Jackson Gering of Montville: 17-24-282-4, Marvin Burroughs of Atlantic City: 16-26-287-3, Hunter Struble of Lakeland: 23-32-273-5, Khyree Bowens of Deptford: 10-13-256-6, Marcus Schomberg of Scotch Plains-Fanwood: 23-25-243-2, Keeanu Darji of Timber Creek: 10-13-237-6, Caleb Brown of Neptune: 14-17-198-2….Rushing: Abel Paul of Livingston: 43-353-4, Ethan Valenza of Hopewell Valley: 41-345-4, Evan Cotter of Newton: 15-295-4, Cole Torres of Shore: 40-271-2, RJ Clark of Pinelands: 10-243-3, Anthony Tirico of Seneca: 20-234-4, Tyler Fuscaldo of Dayton: 21-230-3, Sherwin Appiah of Sayreville: 23-228-4, Nicco Capaldo of Caldwell: 19-201-3, Cassius Carter of Manville: 11-186-3, Christian Senatore of Fort Lee: 17-214-3….Receiving: Kiion Jones of Plainfield: 12-222-4, Nate Vasquez of Dumont: 7-209-4, Manny Jones of Deptford: 4-172-2, Kenai Austin of Atlantic City: 5-164-2, Columb Higgins of Ocean City: 8-152-1, Ryan Valentine of Roxbury: 3-150-3, Leo Etter of Old Tappan: 8-154-2, Zehkiy DeJesus of St. Augustine: 7-132-1….That’s all for this week!
