2017 in Review: The Renegades were 8-4, winning the South Jersey Group 4 title by beating Hammonton after beating Moorestown and Absegami. They scored 375 points for a 31.25 average, while allowing 207 for a 17.25 average, including two shutouts. Wins included Allentown, Hammonton, and Seneca, while their losses were to Lenape, Cherokee, Camden Catholic, and Williamstown.
Graduation Losses: WR/OLB Daevon Robinson – Rutgers, TE Dylan Deveney – Hun School (prep) and will attend Rutgers in 2019, RB/LB Ryan Parris – Hun School, WR/DB Ethan Rieger – Widener, OL Tommy Kane – Rowan, QB/DB Colin Wetterau – baseball at St. John’s
Offense: Shawnee runs the spread and returns three starters. Quarterback has a three-way competition among senior Joe Dalsey (6-3, 215), senior Joey Moore (6-2, 200), and junior Tom Papa (6-1, 200). Running back is open with senior Kyzir Wall (5-7, 160), junior Dalton Short (6-2, 195), and others in the running.
Returning at wide receiver is senior Jon Searcy (6-2-1/2, 195). Other wide receivers may be Short – if he isn’t at running back, and sophomore Nate Summerville (6-4, 195). Tight end has depth with senior Pat O’Hanlon (6-1, 220), junior Matt Papa (6-2, 205), sophomore Mike Jarvis (6-4, 235), and possibly Tom Papa, if he isn’t the quarterback. They will use their share of two and three tight end sets.
Returning to the line are seniors Beau Landizelle (6-6, 315) at right guard and JC Dobis (6-3, 265) at right tackle. The rest of the line will have juniors Anthony Abbott (6-0, 210) at center, Lee Simms (6-4, 330) at left guard, and Alex Pfeifer (6-4, 255) at left tackle. Pushing for time is junior Matt Suriano (6-2-1/2, 230).
Defense: The Renegades run a 4-2-5 and return three starters. Returning at end is O’Hanlon, with Suriano, Tom Papa, and Jarvis rotating at both ends. Senior Jake Stephan (6-0, 225) and some of the offensive line will be rotating at the tackles.
At linebacker, Short saw plenty of time and he will be joined by senior Garrett Carella (5-11, 200), senior Luke Danley (5-10, 185), and Matt Papa.
The outside linebackers return in Searcy and three-year starter Dalsey. Moore will be the safety and the corners are open with junior Dom Frigiola (5-11, 155), junior Dom Carbone (5-9, 150), and senior Grant Pargas (5-9, 155) among those competing.
Special Teams: Dalsey is the kicker and punter for the third straight year and the return men will decided in the pre-season.

Concerns: Identifying a quarterback, inexperience in some positions, and a demanding schedule.
Recruiting: Searcy has offers from Bucknell and Bryant, while Landizelle is being sought by Delaware, Richmond, Virginia, North Carolina, and others. Dalsey has interest from Ivy schools, including Penn; Dobis is an Ivy/Patriot candidate. Moore has a choice between football and baseball.
In the junior class, Simms is drawing attention.
