Post 70 – HS Football – Preview: Winslow

August 28, 2018

2017 In Review:  The Eagles were 4-6, beating Toms River East in the South Jersey Group 4 consolation.  They scored 275 points for a 27.5 average, while allowing 261 for a 26.1 average.  Wins included Cherry Hill West, Clearview, and Cumberland, while their losses included Rancocas Valley, Camden Catholic, Timber Creek, and Camden.

Graduation Losses:  OL Kenneth Chukwuocha – Wesley (Del.), WR/DB Isaiah Shaw – Wesley (Del.)

Offense:  Winslow runs a multiple spread and returns five starters.  Back at quarterback is senior Prince-Dru Bey (6-0, 185) and running back will have several carrying the ball: sophomore Jayden Brown (5-10, 175), senior Cam Osbourne (5-10, 205), and senior Geremy Cobb (5-10, 190).

Wide receiver returns senior Donovan Bunch (6-1, 180).  Winslow will use up to eight players in the rotation here; some of them are junior Isaiah Lewis (6-1, 190), senior Kyle Segars (6-0, 185), junior Daniel Dadura (5-9, 165), and junior Kalieb Bey (5-10, 170).

The line brings back three starters and one spot is still up for grabs.  Returning are senior Jassiem Lettsome (5-10, 260) at center or guard, junior Eric Cintron (5-10, 250) at guard, and senior Ed Wesley (6-3, 245) at tackle.  Also starting will be senior Conner Quigley (6-3, 250) at tackle or guard.  The last spot is being fought for right now.

Defense:  The Eagles play multiple fronts and return ten starters.  Returning on the defensive line are Wesley, Lettsome, and senior Jaiden Squire (6-0, 205).  Also playing will be Osbourne, Segars, and Cintron.  Because the Eagles use multiple fronts, they will have different looks, depending on the opponent, with different players starting.

Returning at linebacker are junior Marcus Young (5-8, 170), senior Andrew Needham (5-10, 170), and Cobb.

Returning to the secondary are Brown, Bunch, Prince-Dru Bey, Kalieb Bey, and sophomore Jalen Cheek (5-11, 160).

Special Teams:  Dadura will be the kicker and Osbourne the punter.  The return men are Bunch and Brown.
