2017 In Review: The Eagles were 10-2, losing to Haddonfield in the South Jersey Group 2 final after beating Cedar Creek and Pleasantville. They scored 372 points for a 31.0 average, while allowing 173 for a 14.42 average, including two shutouts. Wins included Haddonfield, Willingboro, Sterling, and Paulsboro, while their other loss was to Cinnaminson.
Graduation Losses: QB/DE Peter Orio – Franklin & Marshall, OL Tyler Cobb – Catholic U, FB/DB Darren McKeown – St. John’s for baseball, WR Tommy Sampson – Susquehanna for basketball
Offense: West Deptford runs the Wing-T and returns six starters. The quarterback will be sophomore Aaron Graeber (6-2, 180) and the running backs all return: senior Kenny Lim (6-0, 185) will be a four-year starter at halfback, senior TJ Hoyt (6-00, 210) is back at fullback, and junior Tyrone Bookman (5-8, 180) is back at halfback.
Returning at tight end is senior three-year starter Jason Collier (6-7, 285). The split tend is senior Mike Yates (5-7, 170), while senior Jake Paratore (5-10, 200) and junior Devin Colon (6-1, 195) are also in the mix.
Two starters are back on the line in senior Bobby Metz (6-0, 250) at right tackle and junior Tasir Money (5-10, 210) at guard after playing center last year. Senior TJ Kelly (6-1, 215) will play left tackle, while junior Bobby Royal (6-2, 205) is the right guard and senior Dylan Lucas (5-10, 250) is the center.
Defense: The Eagles will run a 4-2-5 defense and return seven starters. Collier returns at end and Royal will be on the opposite side. Metz is the incumbent tackle, playing next to Lucas. Money will fill in at tackle and Hoyt will rotate in at end.
Both linebackers return in Paratore and junior Gavin Shield (5-10, 190).
Back in the secondary are Bookman on the corner, Lim at free safety, and senior Ray Seas (5-9, 185) at strong safety. Playing the Eagle is junior Kam Dixon (5-11, 180) and senior Vinny Scirrotto (5-9, 170) will be the other corner.
Special Teams: Junior Brandon Ratcliffe will handle kicking and punting, while Lim, Bookman, and Seas will be the return men.
