Post 588 – Bull Session Week Five

Before COVID-19, I could take my time deciding which game to attend; sometimes it was a game day decision. But now, I notify the home school’s Athletic Department whose game I am attending a few days ahead of time. With the numerous schedule changes, things change quickly and I publicly change my mind…..Which comes first: a) COVID-19 goes away b) the Giants or Jets field a good team…..By going to Old Tappan, I get to Somerville, which means I get to see their running back, Cookie Desiderio. If Chris Berman was doing high school sports, he would call him Cookie Gilchrist Desiderio. Cookie Gilchrist was a top AFL running back in the 60’s and his highlights are on Youtube…..Top 25 matchups this weekend include in Public Groups 3-4-5: #8 Woodbridge at #11 Parsippany Hills, #21 Kingsway at #9 Wayne Hills, and #9 Catholic St. Augustine at #1 Williamstown. In Public Groups 1-2: #6 Penns Grove at #4 Paulsboro and #22 Becton at #18 Hasbrouck Heights. Public crossover is #15 in Groups 1-2 Manasquan at #3 in Publics 3-4-5 Wall…..Union plays Elizabeth this weekend and while it is not a big game, I remember when it was in the 1980’s and 1990’s…..Watching Parsippany Hills-River Dell last week, I was able to see Jordan Thompson of Parsippany Hills, a Rutgers verbal and he’s a very good football player…..Speaking of Rutgers, how about the Scarlet Knights’ win over Michigan State last weekend?…..With all the COVID cancellations, a good idea would be a listing of the teams looking for games later in the week. So far, there have been good matchups created this way…..I have been busy this week and I am short on material, but I will be back next week with some more bull!
