  • Yasin Clarke, Junior, 5-7, 1150 – will start at slot receiver

Defense:

  • Nasier Summerville, Senior – returning starter, moving from tackle

  • William Carthens, Senior, 5-9, 240 – returning starter
  • Dishon Denny, Senior – will start
  • Amaziah Lawton, Junior, 6-3, 265 – will rotate  

Inside Linebacker: 

  • Eric Lopez, Senior, 6-1, 200 – returning starter   
  • Kharyi Banton, Junior, 6-3, 210 – will start 
  • Jahmir Dooley will rotate when not playing end   

Outside Linebacker: 

  • Anthony Callahan, Senior – started six games
  • Al-Hakka Campbell, Junior – will start at rover: outside linebacker/strong safety   

Cornerback: 

  • Kareem Small, Junior, 5-11, 155 – will start
  • Shaquan Loyal, Junior, 6-1, 185 – will start  

Free Safety:  

  • Shua Sutton, Senior, 6-0, 170 – returning starter
  • Yasin Clarke, Junior – will rotate at corner and safety   

Special Teams: 

  • Sheppard will also be the kicker and punter 
  • Clarke and Dooley will be the return men

Concerns:  

  • Staying focused for twelve weeks   

Recruiting:   

  • Lopez, Sutton, Denny, Ivey, and the rest of the seniors are 1-AA candidates with good years
  • Juniors: Banton has offers from Rutgers, Virginia TEch, and UMass 
  • Juniors: Dooley has Power-5 interest
  • Juniors: Loyal is a sleeper with great potential and may be well known by season’s end 
  • Sophomores: Sheppard is a Power-5 quarterback: has size, arm strength, intelligence, game sense, and is still growing
