  • Saturday, 10/7, at Colts Neck
  • Friday, 10/14, Holmdel at home
  • Friday, 10/22, Point Pleasant Boro at home

Concerns:

  • Being productive on offense without Kieran Falzon
  • Last year had great senior leadership: who steps up?
  • Tough schedule with a Group 2 playing larger schools; eight games with one Group 5, four Group 4’s, two Group 3’s, and the lone Group 2 in Point Pleasant Boro
  • Staying healthy

Recruiting:

  • Tommy Jeleniewski has an offer from LIU plus other 1-AA’s and is arguably the top lineman in the Shore Conference
  • Tsap needs more film, has improved, and has the right size
  • Craft is a D2/D3 prospect
  • Walling will play somewhere and he is a good leader
  • Moser has very good potential
  • Hudson Williams has the ability to play somewhere
  • Acevedo may play football or he may wrestle
  • Others could go the D3 route
  • Underclassmen:
  • Aponte and others will have a chance to show what they can do this year
  • Zweidinger and John Jeleniewski are sophomores with potential
  • They have a good sophomore class that isn’t ready yet

Coach’s Comments:

“We play new teams and it’s exciting. Manalapan is a Group 5 we don’t remember playing and it has been a long time since we’ve played Middletown South. We will fight our tails off and will take every game as a challenge. We will build on what we have done and try to win a championship.” – Head Coach Anthony Petruzzi
