Concerns:
- While there is plenty of experience, they have to replace Lyons at quarterback, who threw for 2,500 yards last year.
- The offensive line has experience, but they still have to produce
Recruiting:
- Degraffenreidt verballed to Rutgers
- Cabrera has interest from Lehigh and he will be attending camps very soon
- Roseborough is a 1-AA prospect with interest from Penn, Marist, and HCBU schools such as Morgan State and Delaware State
- Gibson will play at the D3 level
- Bradley-Brown intrigues several schools and he will also be attending camps this summer
- Underclassmen:
- Barksdale and Hemphill will be playing somewhere
- Among sophomores, Turner and Kelly are very promising
- Another sophomore, Newsome, is only 5-9 but was a good nose guard as a freshman on the varsity level. He is hard to move in a 2-gap scheme and also gets a good push
Coach’s Comments:
“ I am very encouraged with the guys we have coming back. We are flattered by the upgraded schedule: it shows we are being rewarded for success, but we need our A-game every week. We have a strong senior class with some 3-year starters and our skill players are very dynamic. Our defense has good speed, and our numbers are strong.” -Head Coach Keenan Wright
