  • Finish: they started 5-0 and ended up 6-4

Recruiting:

  • Wynn has more than 20 offers, including Maryland, UConn, UMass, Akron, and Kent State
  • Darnell Smith has Ivy and patriot interest as a cornerback
  • Cunningham has 1-AA interest
  • Smallwood will play somewhere and is an outstanding talent
  • The Williams brothers (twins) are very good football players with a height issue
  • Others are good enough to play D3
  • Underclassmen:
  • Baldwin will be very highly recruited next year
  • Upton has offers from Pitt and Rutgers
  • Brookins has offers from Pitt, Nebraska, and Rutgers plus he is very good at track
  • Hoffacker will be busy at the camps and will be attending Monnmouth’s
  • Others have a good chance
  • Lubitnius is the top sophomore at this point

Coach’s Comments:

“We should be very talented and we gained a lot of experience last year. We’re trying to build off that, but last year’s finish left a bad taste in our mouths after starting 5-0. We are working on deficiencies our opponents took advantage of. This is a tight group of kids who can be very good if the coaches don’t screw it up.” – Head Coach Brian Wright
