Kinnelon 37 Kittatinny 7
November 8, 2025
Kinnelon dominated the second half, adding to a 14-7 lead, scored on all four of their possessions, and outscored Kittatinny 23-0 to run away with a 37-7 win.
First Quarter: Kittatinny opened the game with a 10-play drive, advancing to the 10-yard line. But the drive ended with a sack by Jack Felson and Landon Smith, forcing a fumble that was recovered by Dillon Aslani of Kinnelon on the 22. Kinnelon punted, giving Kittatinny the ball on the 48 of Kinnelon. Kittatinny advanced to the 36 on three plays, but the Cougars committed penalties on three consecutive plays, bringing the ball back to their own 49-yard line before punting. Kinnelon took over on their 15 and picked up a first down on a 9-yard run by Soren Porada. On the second play of the second quarter, Matthew Siciliano found Porada downfield for a 73-yard touchdown. Porada caught the ball, shook himself free of the defender, and ran into the end zone.
Second Quarter: Kittatinny recovered an onside kick by Kinnelon on the Kinnelon 49, and a pass interference on Kinnelon gave them a first down on the 33. Jack Brex found Kevin O’Keefe for a screen, and O’Keefe raced for a 24-yard touchdown down the left hashmarks for a 7-7 score. Skyler Porter returned the ensuing kickoff, bobbling it on the 15, and ran left down the sideline to the 42 of Kittatinny. The running of Porada and Wyatt Sisco brought the ball to 19, and a Kittatinny penalty gave the Colts a first-and-goal on the 9. Three straight runs by Siciliano, the last being a 1-yard touchdown, gave Kinnelon a 14-7 lead with five minutes left. Kittatinny advanced to the Kinnelon 11, but Porada cut in front of the receiver for a Kinnelon interception on the 3-yard line with 45 seconds left in the half.
Third Quarter: Kinnelon came out with the ball and went eight plays before Siciliano ran 23 yards for the score on the keeper and a 20-7 lead. It was a simple run through the middle, when he broke through and stumbled a couple of times, but found his way to the end zone. The Colts successfully recovered an onside kick on the 49-yard line of Kittatinny. After a Porada reception lost nine yards, Siciliano broke off a 29-yard run to the 29, before Anthony Manna kicked a 26-yard field goal for a 23-7 lead. Kittatinny drove for ten plays before turning the ball over on downs at the Kittatinny 19.
Fourth Quarter: Kinnelon needed six plays, scoring on a 42-yard run by Porada down the left sideline with 6:45 left. The Colts closed out the scoring on a 24-yard run by Chase Brancaleone and had begun substituting.
Comments: Kinnelon came out strong in the second half, and the onside kick was big because they had possession for over eight minutes in the third quarter. The Colts passed once in the second half, and that was a pop pass that lost nine yards. They only had four for the game; one was the 73-yard score to Porada. They rushed for 300 yards, and the pass gave them a total of 364. Porada ran for 108 yards and a touchdown on 15 carries, Sisco had 81 on 16 carries, and Siciliano had 67 and two touchdowns on 6 carries. The line of left tackle Kareem Abudaya, left guard Anthony Manna, center Joe Ferrara, right guard Kirin Kiesel, and right tackle Brayden McCormick paved the way.
Kittatinny had their chances in the first half. They drove to the 10 on the opening drive before fumbling, and their second drive started in good field position, before three penalties pushed them back 20 yards. They scored on their third drive and advanced to the 11 on their fourth before an interception halted the drive. They were down 14-7 at the half, and the two consecutive Kinnelon drives had them down 23-7 before getting the ball in the third quarter. That took them out of their game: they were run-oriented in the first half, but passed fourteen times on seventeen plays in the second. They were in the game at halftime, but Kinnelon’s first touchdown in the third quarter, followed by the onside kick that led to three points, all but ended their chances. What I did like about their running game was the decisiveness of the runners through the holes: I saw no hesitation. The Kittatinny offensive line is all juniors and should be fun to watch next year.
